Like the fact that the drive enters a sleep mode after a certain period to conserve electricity, this does not affect performance though as it quickly spins back to life once it is needed. My Playstation 3 will not recognize a hardrive being present when I hook it up via USB cable. All seagate instructions to attempt to rectify it are useless.
